How to Get to Koh Phangan
There is no airport on Koh Phangan, this isn’t the biggest or most touristy Thai island but there are lots of ways to get here. Most people travel from Bangkok via bus/train then ferry, or catching a ferry from the other islands in southern Thailand. You can book transport online or on arrival with a local travel operator. Getting to the Full Moon Party isn’t that difficult.
Where to Stay for the Full Moon Party?
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Koh Phangan close to the Full Moon Party search for accommodation that’s near to Haad Rin. This will save you having to worry about taxis and transport. Accommodation does get booked up well in-advance though so you’ll need to book early. If you aren’t really a party animal, you might be best staying outside of Haad Rin, there are lots of areas nearby which are much less rowdy, and also cheaper.
Full Moon Party Tours
If you are travelling solo, or just looking to meet others and have a lot of fun, then consider booking a tour. Some international travel companies which I recommend include with G Adventures and Contiki, both offer trips which include the Thai islands and the Full Moon Party in some itineraries.
