Copacabana

Seafood restaurants in Rio de Janeiro are everywhere and as with so many coastal places around the world, Rio has a great seafood tradition.

Here it’s a list of a few seafood restaurants in Rio de Janeiro that are worth visiting.

1. Satyricon

• Rua Br Torre, 192 – Ipanema

This popular restaurant boasts a sizeable dining area and the menu is packed with dishes made with ingredients caught and delivered fresh from the South Atlantic Ocean. You can choose your dish from the appealing looking displays which are as professional as the dishes themselves. It is a sophisticated and one of the pricier establishments in Rio.

2. Margutta

• Avenida Henrique Dumont, 62 – Ipanema

This is a seafood restaurant with an Italian twist to it. The great Brazilian ingredients and traditional Italian recipes are a fabulous combination which you cannot really afford to miss.

3. Bira de Guaratiba

• Estr. da Vendinha, 68 – Barra de Guaratiba

Not only does this restaurant offer great seafood dishes but is has a privileged location which provides the diner with glorious views of the Guaratiba Bay. The menu is diverse, although the caipirinhas come particularly highly recommended.

4. Skinna

• R. Pedro Bolato, 187 – Barra da Tijuca

Located in the fancy Barra da Tijuca neighbourhood, you can eat outdoors in style here. The reasonably high price tags are worth it to enjoy the all you can eat shrimp. There are other options to accompany this and all are well prepared by the well respected chef.

5. Restaurante Barracuda

• Av. Infante Dom Henrique – Glória

This is a seafood restaurant but the accompanying ingredients are every bit as good as the seafood itself. The octopus is highly recommended due to the unique way in which this delicacy is served.
