You’ve just landed, you’re on vacation and you’re ready to party. But, one major problem, you’re under 21!
I know, in your country, you’ve been going out for years. But in California and the USA, bars and clubs are very strict about letting you in as an underage person. Yes, I agree, it sucks.
The good news is, Los Angeles has a few places that do let young adults party. Here are five 18+ clubs in Hollywood that will let you dance all night. Well, until 2am. Yes, I agree, that sucks too.
1. Boardners
• 1652 N Cherokee Ave.
Underage peeps can show off their dance moves a few nights a week at Boardners and The B52 Club.
Each night has a specific theme. Mondays are Blue Mondays, with more 80s songs that you can remember, Wednesdays are Club Moscow, featuring “RockIndieElectroDebstep”, Epic Thursday are all about Hip Hop, electro and Top 40 as well as My Castle Fridays, and Saturdays are underground nights.
Boardners also features an outdoor area to dance and enjoy music. Drinks at the full bar is set at a reasonable price (for those 21 and over, of course).
2. Florentine Gardens
• 5951 Hollywood Blvd
This club is one of the longest-running 18+ clubs in Hollywood. It has spacious dance floors, a casual ambiance and a full bar for 21+ patrons. Peak nights are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
The cover is cash only at $15. An outdoor patio area allows for smoking. The music selection is mostly hip-hop and electronic, with other genres occasionally.
3. Level 3
• 3rd level of Hollywood and Highland
Most likely the classiest place of the bunch. It’s huge, has tons of space to dance, comfy couches, and lots of pretty people. For people under 21, the cover is usually $20, and the dress code is strict.
They play a Top 40 remixed, and they’ve got special themed nights. Not your typical backpacker hangout place, but a real Hollywood club.
4. Arena
• 6655 Santa Monica Blvd
This club is 18+ every night, unless there’s a special event. Arena serves as one of the few 18+ gay nightclubs in Hollywood. Saturdays are Boys Night.
The music selection plays hip-hop, 80s music and top 40. The upstairs bar is 21+ with a full bar. Wednesdays are strictly hip-hop nights. Check their Facebook page to see what’s happening.
5. Tigerheat
• Avalon near Hollywood & Vine (across from the Capitol Records building)
There is also Club Tigerheat on Thursday nights, perfect for a great week day night out.
