1. Papas Arrugadas
Papas Arrugadas is the vital staple in every meal in Lanzarote. It’s basically wrinkled potatoes served with a tasty sauce made of garlic, olive oil, vinegar and generous helpings of herbs and spices.
2. Dorada, Vieja and Cherneand Other Seafood
The most common fish that are served in various restaurants in Lanzarote include Dorada (sea bream), Vieja (parrot fish) and Cherne (sea bass). They come plentiful in the area and are cooked in a variety of ways. Lanzarote being surrounded by water also has a lot of tasty seafood dishes that you should try.
3. Gofio
Gofio is another staple food in Lanzarote made from toasted corn and maize flour. It’s used in a variety of ways like in bread making, desserts and also to thicken soups and stews.
4. Papas Crias
These are basically wild potatoes that grown on the rocky hillside of the island. It’s a prized delicacy in Lanzarote due to the richness of it’s flavors. It’s prepared in a variety of ways and you won’t have a hard time looking for a Papas crias dish anywhere in the island.
